Présence Privacy Policy

Présence is a personal wellness diary for families tracking absence seizures, published by Bow at a Venture LLC. We built it so your information stays with you. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your data. It covers the iPhone app (iPad is not supported). A future Android version will work the same way.

The short version

• Everything you log stays on your device.
• No accounts, no servers, and no cloud sync.
• No ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
• The only network request the app makes for your diary is a weather lookup when you log an episode.
• If you buy Présence Plus, Apple handles the payment. We never see your card details.

Not a medical device

Présence is a personal wellness diary, not for emergencies. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, monitor, or alert. Please talk with your doctor about any health decisions.

What you store, and where

Your entries, including episodes, checklists, notes, weather snapshots, and the profile (name, age, medications, photo, height, and weight), are stored only on your device. We never receive them. We don't run servers, offer accounts, or sync your data to any cloud of ours.

Weather lookup

When you log an episode, the app asks Apple Weather (WeatherKit) for a snapshot at your device's approximate location. That snapshot can include temperature, feels-like temperature, humidity, pressure and its trend, the 24-hour temperature change, conditions, UV, cloud cover, daylight, wind, dew point, and visibility. Fields Apple does not provide are left blank. No personal data or diary content is sent with the request. Your location is used only for that request and is not stored by us. Temperatures are shown using your iPhone's Temperature setting (Fahrenheit or Celsius). Apple's WeatherKit and Apple Weather terms apply to that request, and Présence credits Apple Weather wherever a temperature or weather reading appears.

Apple Health (optional)

Apple Health integration is off by default, and you control it. Data read from or written to Health stays on your device. Health data is never shared with us, never used for advertising, and never sent off the device by Présence.

Siri and voice commands

When you use Siri or Shortcuts, your voice is processed by Apple under Apple's terms. Présence receives only the command. Nothing from that command is sent to us.

Purchases

Présence Plus is sold through the App Store as a yearly subscription with a 14-day trial ($19.99/year) or a lifetime purchase ($44.99). Apple processes the payment. We do not receive your payment card number or Apple Account password. Apple's privacy policy applies to that purchase.

Exports

The detailed Care Team report (PDF) and CSV exports are created on your device and are shared only when you choose to share them using the share sheet. Exports contain health information, so share them with care.

Deleting your data

Deleting entries, or deleting the app, removes the data. We cannot recover it, because we never hold it.

Children

Présence is meant to be used by parents or caregivers on a child's behalf. Information about a child stays on the device. We collect no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll post the update on this page with a new effective date.
