How do I bring a detailed report to my child’s care team?
Short answer: before the appointment, pick a date range, export your log as a report or spreadsheet, skim it, and write down two or three questions. Bring it on the phone or as a shared file, whichever your care team prefers.
Appointments are short, and doctors will ask about what happened before, during and after seizures (NHS: Epilepsy). Remembering a month of brief pauses in a waiting room is hard. A report does that remembering for you.
Steps
- Choose the date range. Usually since the last visit, or since a medicine change if that’s what they’ll ask about.
- Export it. In Présence, open the export option and choose the detailed Care Team report (PDF) or a CSV spreadsheet, then pick the range (Support).
- Skim it first. Check for missed or duplicate entries. Add any you remember now, marked as added later.
- Write your questions. For example: Are these counts typical? Should we log anything differently? What should change our action plan?
- Share it your way. Show it on the phone, or use the share sheet to send it through a channel your care team accepts. The file contains health information, so send it with care.
Let the care team draw the conclusions. Charts can show more episodes on some days than others, but they can’t show cause. The Patterns charts are for your reference and to share with the care team, and they aren’t medical advice.
Free and Plus
Once Présence launches, logging, history, and CSV export are free. The detailed Care Team report, full Patterns charts, and Apple Health sync are part of Présence Plus. During the TestFlight beta, everything is unlocked.
Présence is a personal wellness diary, not for emergencies. It doesn’t diagnose, treat, monitor, or alert. This guide isn’t first aid. Follow your child’s individual seizure action plan. If an episode is different from their usual pattern or you are unsure what to do, contact their care team; get emergency help for immediate danger such as trouble breathing or serious injury.
